boho--rhapsody asked: Hi I was just wondering if there is a release date for the sequel of hidden yet if there is I would be extremely happy if you could tell me!
Hi boho—rhapsody, the release date for the sequel to Hidden is 13th of March, 2013. I can also tell you the title is “Broken”. It’s not likely to change, but there is always a possibility. Cheers!
This was such a well-written review with intelligent insights I wanted to share it on tumblr where I have my own blog, Old Magic Mountain.
Images, Songs and Finishing Revisions
Hi everyone
It’s been a while since I wrote in my Blog, and that’s because, as you may have guessed, I’ve been frantically busy writing. I had my editorial revisions for Book 2 given to me at Christmas time. I couldn’t start working on them straight away because Christmas is a time for families, and in the new year mother nature intervened in the form of the Queensland Floods. Ex cyclone Oswald decided to visit and stay for a whole few days and nights, pounding us with torrential rain and high winds. Mount Tamborine was a disaster with roads closed, trees down in every street, every backyard, and on many houses. For six days we had no power, which meant up here we had no water in the taps, showers, or flushing toilets! Isolated from the world, with no telephones, not even our mobile phones worked and soon ran out of battery charge. But it wasn’t just Mount Tamborine that took the hit from the cyclone, but a huge part of Queensland, and many people suffered incredible losses of homes, business, incomes and even precious lives were lost. It was a difficult time for many thousands of Queenslanders. It’s amazing the courage and strength of the human spirit. It reveals itself in the most trying of situations.
After the power came back on my computer died. My wonderful IT tech helped me out. What a frustrating time! But I can now say I have finished the revisions and Book 2 is back in the hands of my publisher, one step closer to publication, which I understand will be the same time in Australia, the UK AND the USA in March 2014.
Hidden has been released now for a few weeks and I’ve noticed many reviews going up. So I thought I would share a couple with you.
The first link is to Read Plus review, written by Pat Pledger, who is a director of Pledger Consulting and editor of the ReadPlus blog. Pat was a school library coordinator and English teacher, and has presented conference papers about literature activities at national and international conferences. Pat reviews for the South Australian English Teachers’ Association and the School Libraries Association of South Australia. You can find her review it at this link: http://www.readplus.com.au/blog_detail.php?id=3481
The next is by a thirteen-year-old girl named Sophie Louise, who says she ‘always has her head in a book or a pen in her hand’. Sophie’s blog is called A Daydreamers World, and her review can be found here: http://a-day-dreamers-world.blogspot.com.au/2013/03/review-hidden-by-marianne-curley.html
Some people have asked me what I listen to when I’m writing. I love dramatic, powerful music like Rihanna’s Diamonds, Adele’s Someone Like You, and Guy Sebastian’s, Battle Scars and Get Along. This next link is to a You Tube song by Kristy Nockels called Waiting Here For You. It’s beautiful and moving, just perfect for writing those epic storylines! http://youtu.be/4cGqJBa8uK0
And finally I would like to leave you with a couple of images from my Avena Series: the white horse could easily be Shadow. It’s the closest picture I’ve found of the image in my head of Shadow. I love the expression in his eyes, the way he holds his head and how he’s looking straight at you. And the volcano erupting image is similar to the images in my head of Skade’s mountainous, volcanic landscape.
Take care everyone. Until next time …

HIDDEN LAUNCH
Thank you to all who braved the weather and came to Hidden’s launch yesterday at Marks & Gardner Gallery & Bookshop on Mount Tamborine, it was a wonderful, intimate event and I can’t thank you all enough. I met some amazing people there, too many to name, and signed a lovely mix of brand new and well-loved books from my deep past! It poured rain the whole time, but in a way it brought everyone closer together, first literally, then in the friendship way of getting to know each other.
I want to thank some very special people who not only made the event happen, but made it a warm and memorable occasion. Firstly, a HUGE thank you to the wonderful Janene and Mary from Marks & Gardner for hosting the launch, and for being amazing hosts yesterday. Janene, thank you for your wonderful, heart-felt introduction, and for all the planning and hard work you put into it before the day,and on the day even though you were sick!
Thank you to Sonia Palmisano from Bloomsbury Publishing Sydney, who came up especially for the launch. I am still in awe of your amazing speech, and thank you for the support and enthusiasm you and all the Sydney Bloomsbury staff have shown me. You are all awesome!
Thank you so much Geoffrey Radford, my agent since forever, it was wonderful to have you in my little corner of the world. Thank you for making the long trip up from Sydney, and for being there for me as my agent and loyal friend.
And to my family, a big BIG thank you! You are all adorable, especially my little angels Zachary and Josephine, who not only looked gorgeous, but charmed us all yesterday!
And I can’t forget Abbie who gave me a beautiful introduction, thank you so much!
I don’t have any photos yet, but pinched one from my daughter Amanda’s facebook page. The Hidden Novels team will be putting some up on the Hidden Novels page soon, if not already.
Cheers everyone! It’s back to work for me on Book Two revisions.

hayliemyers asked: I love your books. Just found out your releasing your new book very soon. Can't wait. Your Guardians of time trilogy are one of my favourite series I have ever read. I also enjoyed old magic. Can't wait to read your new series. Haylie
Thanks so much, Haylie! The release is in a few days and it’s very exciting. I’m so glad to hear you, and many of my earlier readers who have contacted me, are looking forward to my new series. It’s been 7 years since The Key came out and that’s such a long time. But it’s great to be back!

INVITATION FOR HIDDEN LAUNCH

Hi everyone
I just received the official Invitation to the HIDDEN launch. If you’re in the Gold Coast Hinterland area on Sunday, 3rd March at 11 am, or just want to come up to Mount Tamborine for a drive, come along, I would love to see you there. I will be doing a reading, answering questions and signing books. Please RSVP as detailed above. It will be fun.
HIDDEN
Wow, I can’t believe how close the release of HIDDEN is now. The official release date is Friday, 1st of March for Australia and New Zealand, and the 14th for the UK, and June for the USA. So much is happening right now, and my life has become exceptionally busy these days. I just had an interview by Phil Brown, Senior Writer for News Queensland, so Brisbane people watch for that. The photo for the article was taken standing in my front yard by Luke Marsden, a wonderful photographer from the Gold Coast. I’ll try to put a link on my blog to the article after it’s been published. I don’t have a date for the article yet, but Phil Brown told me it is meant to coincide with HIDDEN’s release.
Speaking of links, below is one for Sydney people. Bloomsbury Publishing are marking the release of HIDDEN with a fun event at Angel Place, just off George Street, on Friday, 1st March at 12.30 pm. The girl who starred in the HIDDEN trailer will be there giving away free copies of HIDDEN to the first few who turn up. More details on the Hidden Novels facebook site, and at this Google link: https://plus.google.com/u/0/101238686525840735342/posts/6s5y5hidFiZ
Recently I had a Google Hangout with some very lovely young ladies who asked me millions of questions. Well, maybe not millions, but I was pretty nervous since it was my first ever Google Hangout. I’m not the kind of person who is relaxed when under the spotlight, but I do my best because I believe in The Avena Series, and I’m grateful for all the promotional work Bloomsbury Publishing are putting into the release of this new series. The link to the Google Hangout is below. It runs for about half an hour, so make yourself a cuppa and sit back and enjoy: http://youtu.be/utQ0LKV0ICs

Six Weeks Until HIDDEN is Released

Hello everyone, I hope you all had a lovely time over Christmas and 2013 is off to a great start for you. My Christmas was spent with family and was exhausting but very special. My grandchildren Zach and Josie are becoming more adorable every day. And 2013 is up and running and keeping me ridiculously busy.
A day or two before Christmas I got my editorial revisions for Book 2. When they arrived I was mid-way through writing the first draft for Book 3. It was hard to stop writing the Book 3 draft. I had momentum going and really didn’t want to stop. But it’s important that I don’t hold up the production of Book 2, so I read and re-read the editor’s notes, discussed them with my readers, my girls Amanda and Danielle, and began what I thought was going to be a mountain to climb.
Two weeks later the revisions are going well and turned out not to be as daunting as I first thought. But I’m still keen to return to Book 3 and my mind wanders over there all the time. It’s as if this entire story is in a hurry to get out of my head. But, of course, when it comes to getting it out, it doesn’t transfer from head to computer that easily!
It’s only six weeks to the Australian launch of HIDDEN, and only one or two weeks until Bloomsbury launches the HIDDEN trailer. I never had a trailer for Old Magic, or any of the Guardians of Time books, so I’m very excited. Keep watch for it. I’ll put up a notice and probably a link to it from my Facebook Page.
If any of you haven’t checked out the HIDDEN Facebook page, you should really take a look. The amazing staff at Bloomsbury do a great job with it, especially with running competitions to win my books. They have given away all five of my books already, with more giveaways to come! And this is where the HIDDEN trailer will be launched.
Lastly for today, and speaking of launches, the wonderful people at Mount Tamborine’s Marks & Gardner Gallery @ Secret Garden, www.marksandgardner.com/ are hosting a book launch for HIDDEN on Sunday, 3rd March at 10:30 am. Sonia Palmisano will be there. Sonia works in the Children’s and Young Adult Books Department of Bloomsbury Australia. My wonderful Australian agent, Geoffrey Radford from Anthony Williams Management, will also be flying up from Sydney for the event. Details of the launch will be posted on the Marks & Gardner website soon. I’ll be taking questions and answers and signing books. There will be plenty of copies of HIDDEN available for purchase on the day, as well as the latest editions of OLD MAGIC, THE NAMED, THE DARK and THE KEY. You can also bring your own copies for me to sign. Don’t worry if it’s old and has a tattered cover, I know that means the book is well-loved. So if you’re in the area, or feel like a drive up a gorgeous mountain, I’d love to see you there.
The images I have put up today remind me of scenes from HIDDEN. One is the symbolic and important white feather, the other is of a white horse that could be Ebony’s beautiful stallion, Shadow.
